Some side effects include...

-hallucinations

-night terrors

-changes in personality

*This is on the bottle for my Malaria pills. So, here's a little experiment. Let's not tell my roommates. Then, at three AM when I am baking a pillow in the oven and bring it into one of their rooms, covered in shampoo and whisper "Dinner's ready" at the foot of their bed, the laugh will be on all of us!

Side effect of not taking these pills include light headedness, shortness of breath, tachycardia, fever, chills, nausea, flu-like illness, coma and death.

Much less humor potential with the fever-chills-coma-death stuff, IMHO. Even if you got Jeremy Irons to do the "bedside by comatose love" role.

I would have to disagree. I think we have all seen Weekend at Bernies, and can agree that hilarity ensued from beginning to end.

Also I worked for two weeks on a film with a guy who was in the throes of Lariam delusions and it is hilarious. If;

a.) you find menopause hilarious. Which it is. Mooooooooodswings.

b.) you enjoy finding grown men sleepwalking the halls of a Holiday Inn naked. Which I do.

Makes me think twice if I should take it or not...but then again, I think I am already suffering from all those mentioned above. LOL!

Lariam is the worst - doxycycline or atovaquone/proguanil have a lot less side effects if you can get one of those. I was in a group of people who went to a malaria zone and the people who had lariam got some crazy dreams - most chose to not even take them after a while.
