Chin Up

Welcome to K’s pity party!

No, no. Don’t leave your shoes at the door. You’ll need them to come in and smear mud on the floor boards, and what would a pity party be if you didn’t end by walking them all over me? (*uncomfortable silence*)

Don’t be shy!

How do you like my decorations? Voodoo dolls are back I’m telling you. No, it’s not a Halloween theme. But great idea, I should use them for that in a few weeks.

You like the music, right? Our soundtrack is uncontrollable sobbing interspersed with mumbles of inappropriate, manic giggling at the ridiculousness of it all. You don’t like it? Fine, I’ll put on Emo. As if there’s any difference. Zing!

Are you hungry? Don’t fret, we’ve got snacks at this party. And seriously, when was the last time you had snacks at a party? No, fancy cocktail hours and wine and cheese pairings don’t count. No, there’s no baked brie, but how about a nice big slice of humble pie? It goes really well if you wash it down with an icy cold glass of bitter desperation.

So, yeah. Uh. How’ve you been? Grrrrreaaaaaaat. No really, that's great.

Hmmm.

You’re right. This party blows. Let’s get out of here.

This is what they make massages, chocolate, and down comforters for. Corral pain into poignant moments in the novel, and move the hell on…

I'm not sure if you got your heart broken or some nasty friend turned on you or what, but it's clear that whoever crossed you was a *sshole!!

You're great and you should believe it. Hooray for chocolate!! Hooray for the book! Hooray for you!!

K, I'm sorry that you're going through something painful at the moment. However, if it helps...it has certainly led to some great writing. Hey, silver lining.

So you're still kinda down, huh? Yeah, I read your before post, and was gonna post a comment, but I got sidetracked...sorry. And I'm even more sorry that you're feeling down (sidebar, I dont know if this is the best time or not to tell you, but I like how your writing conveys your emotions perfectly...really a true testament to how great a writer you are!) but it will eventually get better. I know I cant prove it now, but it will. Trust me on this. Every thunderstorm has a rainbow at the end. So I dont know...maybe you could use this alone time to learn how to be a stronger person. Sure, we all crave companionship, it's only human nature, but there are moments in our lives, when having a mate just isnt possible. And it's in those moments when we must challenge ourselves to see if we are able to stand on our own two feet, depending on no one but ourselves. Because in the end, it's you against the world. Still, promise that you'll keep the faith that one day you will find an infinate amount of love that will come to you when you are ready to recieve it...so in the meantime...take care.

Ok...ditto to what David said. On an up note--or not, depending on the circumstances of your current mood--I've posted about my wedding and part of the honeymoon on my blog. It might cheer you up. Or not. Take care.

I hoped you dumped your boyfriend. See what else is out there-I bet so many guys are dying to date you.
